Svar – Turyaa

Turyaa stands tall on the busiest roads of south Chennai – OMR. This place is very close from the city as it comes immediately after SRP tools junction. Identification of Turyaa is very easy as it’s the only building standing tall when coming from SRP tools. If still having a problem in location, use Google maps.

Svar in Turyaa was the restaurant we went for lunch, it was a buffet. The price is reasonable for the food they serve us! Its Rs.950+ taxes per head.

The ambiance is simple and elegant; they have cozy comfortable seating and can accommodate easily 60+ customers on the go. The lighting was bright; since we went on a sunny afternoon it was very bright naturally. The orange-ish touch in the entire is pretty nice and I like it.

Food, we started off with chicken soup, which was served hot and it was good. Then came the starters, Dragon tofu was soft and the taste was yum; my sister she finished the entire dish herself. Afghani Paneer tikka had issues, the paneer wasn’t soft and the taste was very bland, the lotus stem starter was just perfect it was crispy and tangy. On the Non-veg side we had Prawns which was marinated perfectly, not a prawn lover but this dish was good, the deviled chicken served to us was very tangy but it didn’t spoil the taste like the mutton seekh kebab. The seekh kebab was very dry and lost the juiciness in it, which spoilt the joy of eating the mutton seekh kebab. How can starters end without having fish, we were served fish fry. It was crispy and yum, lucky it wasn’t very oil but was served very hot. In Salads, I had chicken sausage salad and American corn sported lentil pomegranate salad. Both the salads were really good. Yes, we had salads after starters as they were brought to our table it.

For the mains, I had Murgh Dum briyani along with Gosht Kali Mirchi. They blended along well and it was good. The taste was got enriched after mixing the gravy to the briyani. We had garlic naan in the bread which also tasted good with Gosht Kali Mirchi. Finally, a happy way to finish is by eating the perfect curd rice.

For desserts, they had simple varieties but we were full and couldn’t eat all. They had Black Current mousse, white chocolate brownie, Choco mango pastry, Almond honey financier, Strawberry Cheesecake and Gulab Jamun. My favorites were Black Current mousse, choco mango pastry, and strawberry cheesecake.

We were served Mocktails as they can’t serve Liquor because of SC’s Highway rule. We had sea breeze, dragons, and bloody shine. All the three drinks had strong syrups which were way too strong and I couldn’t enjoy the drink at all.

Service, Top-Notch no adhukum mela (better than that). They were very polite and were on their toes. The restaurant manager himself along with the chef sat with us asking for feedback and ways to improve the quality. The most important thing is that they were willing to accept the feedbacks instead of arguing back that they were done right. Then Mr. Arun Raj the General Manager himself came to pamper us! Wow, what hospitality. Should give 5/5 just for the way they pampered us.

Svar- Turyaa had minor errors and the team would fix it in no time they promised.
